Mapped Mosaics
Katy Mills Mall Mural
Mapped Mosaics
Chosen Barricade Design
This was a mural designed for Katy Mills Mall in Katy, Texas with the goal of increasing visitor foot traffic. The within the project details was to create a visual system based on forms and shapes to create said design. My work integrates the mall map and the stores to create a personalized design further than just creating a pattern, creating a Mapped Mosaic.

Mapped Mosaics hopes to increase foot traffic via creating something visually interesting regardless of your age group while recognizing the experience of being at a mall and the stores you visit.

This concept unites the diversity of the Katy Mills Mall within a geometric space through its blueprint layout. Using the mall map via outlines, geometric patterns and a square grid, this is an exploration on how an onlooker experiences the mall, emulating the way a large space becomes personal once you interact with a singular shop. It’s meant for shoppers to take a second and see their own experience expressed physically.
