Behind the Project
Genesis Media Labs came from my previous experience volunteering and working in different smaller scale churches and seeing the distinct information and systematic gap that developing and recently planted churches unfortunately have. Through these experiences I was able to notice that often times churches seem to put multimedia, whether that is in-house production, visual consistency, and/or social presence in the back burner; while likewise noticing that these factors deeply effect the attraction of new visitors to these churches.
My design approach was more technological based while also adhering to a typical church-based aesthetic. I hoped to employ a distinct typographical hierarchy in order to facilitate User interaction with the media. This was done by having all my important heading be set with a bold and wide sans-serif, while supporting information was set with a more neutral sans-serif (helvetica). I also ensured to emphasize important information via a hover effect turning type from a white to a neon green to further express the technological base of my non-profit.
